Disneys Hades
My entry to a Kingdom Hearts themed competition over at GameArtisans.org. The brief asked us to choose an existing Disney or Square Enix concept and mold them into a Kingdom Hearts Universe character. I chose Hades from the animated film, Hercules. I tried to keep the existing colour pallete. Shades of grey and blue seemed to be the dominant hues. His "keyblade" has the square edges swirl motif because his posessions in the movie and television series seemed to be adorned by this same shape. The motif on the back of his cape is my spin on the "Heartless" emblem from the games.
The texture is hand painted and I have baked a normal map from my sculpt so to make the models details "pop". The brief allowed us 3000 triangles for both our character and weapon and a 512x512 texture limit.
